08.30 am – Had breakfast.

A cup of milo, a slice of toast and

a plate of Mi Sedap. ~yum

12.30 pm – Lunch.

03.30 pm – And then the electricity went *spoof*. Couldn’t do a damn thing in the house. No internet. No TV. No music. No entertainment. Boring as hell.

Ah well, decided to take the time to clean up the dust on the monitor,

the fan and

(before)

(after)

the air cond filters.

(before)

(after)

06.30 pm – Ah. Finally. After 3 hours of caveman time, the electricity returned.

Had Farveen’s Dalkandar for dinner.

07.30 pm – Hung out at Tiger Arms with buddies.

Had roasted nuts,

8 rounds of Jack & Jill potato chips,

and a few pints of the usual.

The total amount spent by the 5 of us. Who is ‘us’? It’s a secret I’ll never tell. XOXO.

The Saturday I Went To Astaka Taman Tun Sardon For Breakfast

09.30 am – Went over to try out Taman Tun Sardon’s Astaka for the first time. Lotsa stuff to eat here. All definitely halal.

We had Wahid’s

roti bom and roti telur.

Sri Buana’s

sup koay teow.

And a new thing I have never heard of before in my whole life (although I stay in Penang) called serabai.

It cost about RM0.50 per piece and

tastes kinda like huat koay.

The serabai went well with it’s dip.

Had teh tarik as well.

As there was only Vinny and me, our stomachs didn’t allow us to try out everything. If it was Shawn or Anthony, I guess it’d be different. Anyway, I’ve already marked out 2 stalls I wanna try the next time I come here. Mami Tanjung’s fried bihun,

You Ask For It’s chapati and Sundrum Villa’s tosai.

Oh yeah. While eating an accident happened. Accident as in the drinks guy accidentally spilled teh tarik on Vinny’s ass.

It was so wet that I had to buy the cheapest newspaper I can find (sorry la Kosmo, your newspaper was the cheapest among all)

and layered my car’s passenger seat to keep it clean and dry.

10.30 am – Watched Fringe s01e04.

Fringe s01e05.

01.30 pm – Had homecooked for lunch.

Lobak.

Tomato radish soup.

Stir fried vegetables.

Lala.

Acar.

For dessert, I stole a mini doughnut and a

micro doughnut.

03.30 pm – Watched Madagascar 2. “The name’s so nice, you say it twice”. Hilarious!

FC Rating : 8/10

05.30 pm – Went over to Pantai Jerejak’s Teong Lee for

a Tropical Sling while waiting to pick up someone.

06.30 pm – The Penang Bridge Marathon 2008 setup was complete by this time.

08.00 pm – Went over to Lim Hui Xin’s 1 year old birthday party.

Sadly, by the time Vinny and I arrived, there was only curry chicken, yong tau foo

and 1/5 of the cake left.

And that’s the birthday girl below.

10.00 pm – Went over to Tiger Arms for a couple of rounds of

Guinness Draught and

potato chips.

12.00 am – zzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The Friday Ooi Chun Wei Dropped By For 2.5 Hours

09.00 am – Had breakfast.

Homemade char bee hoon.

11.30 am – Found out that pillows should be replaced EVERY YEAR. I’ve one that’s been with me for like 6 years already. Vinny, you were right. Thanks for raising the awareness. It’s time to buy a new one.

12.30 pm – Had lunch. Sorry la Chun Wei. I hungry liao.

01.30 pm – He came and we went over to Old Town.

This man has a secret weapon that only my Uni housemates and I know. We managed to pacak a flag somemore.

As we stayed and chit chatted and caught up with each other’s life we finished a glass of coffee

The Saturday I Had 2 Pieces Of Cargas Bayan Lepas Killer Fried Chicken

10.00 am – Woke up. Breakfasted.

Tried Dutch Lady’s low fat mixed berries yoghurt for the first time.

~yum

12.30 pm – Had lunch.

03.00 pm – Went to the legendary Cargas to meet

these fellas.

Thanks Nat for the killer drumstick.

10 minutes later…

(How can 1 Cargas killer fried chicken be enough?)

One thing I like about Cargas is that they keep a consistent supply of serviettes throughout it’s operating hours from 8.30am to 4.30pm.

04.00 pm – Moved on over to Queensbay and collected the tickets for Eagle Eye.

05.15 pm – Watched Eagle Eye.

FC Rating : 7.5 / 10

08.15 pm – Went to Evergreen Vegetarian Restaurant in Pulau Tikus for dinner.

It was packed!

The very wide array of dishes to choose from.

I had 5 different dishes together with

a bowl of bee ko moey.

09.30 pm – And then all of us hopped on over to Belissa Row’s Haagen-Dazs.

Shawn and Gabe.

Lee Li and Phaik Chin.

Gabe, Daryl, Jason, Anthony.

After a tough time choosing what to order, I narrowed down the selection to this,

this or

this.

Flower Blossom looked tempting but the portioning looks huge. No doubt, Brownie Explosion was enticing but it also looked overly sweet at the same time.

The winner = Belgian Waffle Dream

Jason’s Brownie Explosion.

The girls’ cookie combo.

Anthony’s Mango Tango. Lemma, sounds so tak ngam.

11.00 pm – And then we went to Tiger Arms.

Had the usual Guinness / Kilkenny.

Played Tiger Arms’s fusball for the first time.

(The high quality boring video below plays only if you’re logged in)

2 hours later, these fellas came.

Anthony, nah your pic.

02.00 am – Wanted to supper at Nasi Tembok but skipped it since the line was like soooooooooooooooooooooo long. I’m sure there were twenty over people waiting in line and if each person took 1 minute to order we would have to wait AT LEAST 20 minutes.

And so we went to Jelutong market’s economy rice, which was close. Sat at the midnight nasi kandar stall across the road before Andy suggested

McDonald’s.

My first ever experience having fillet o fish and fries at this hour.

09.00 pm – Left for UPR.

Was drizzling. Waited for the rest in the car before leaving together.

09.30 pm – Started off in Tiger Arms.

The much publicized GOLD party in Upper Penang Road was boring and dull. The emptiness of the crowd in UPR in the 2 pictures below is enough to prove the kecacatan of the event organizer.

Carlsberg, if I had organized the event, I would have AT LEAST a few hot girls in shapely, eye grabbing wear walking around having passers by buy your kononly new Gold beer through coupons that entitles them to a chance of winning something simple like a bucket or smth & a lucky draw for holidays around Asia rather than spending the money on billboard advertising somewhere in the region of 6 figures around the entire Penang Island!

11.00 pm – MOIS.

Was greeted by 2 magicians having a time of their life impressing chicks around them early on in the night.

John, Keong, Daryl, Geography.

Please. Do. Not. Kiss. Me.

Please. Control. Yourself.

07.00 pm – Domino’s.

Daryl with his laser sharp eyes caught ‘evidence’ in the form of a cinema ticket when we were about to alight from Anthony’s car.

Made of honour… hmmmm…… 😈

Thanks to my brother who was rewarded a Millennium Gold Card, we enjoyed 2 large pizzas for the price of one ^.^

I learned that in a relationship, when a woman is upset, she not only uses generalities, but is also looking for support.

    When a woman says :

  1. “No one listens to me anymore”

A man hears it as –

“I give you my attention but you don’t listen to me. You used to. You have become a very boring person to be with. I want something exciting and interesting and you are definitely not that person. You are disappointing, selfish and uncaring.”

    How true.

But what she actually means is –

“I am afraid I am boring to you. I am afraid you are no longer interested in me. I seem to be very sensitive today. Would you give me some special attention? I would love it. I’ve had a hard day and feel as though no one wants to hear what I have to say.”

Men tend to be more factual and will take words literally. A typical response would be –

“That’s not true. I am listening to you what.”

So before a man can learn women language, he has to be aware that there is such a language.

  2. Next.

  3. When a man faces a problem or becomes stressed out he will become silent. And he expects to be left alone to deal with it. Women’s golden rules is to never abandon a friend when she is upset. But it does not apply to men. It’s different. Men and women speak different languages.

What he is actually saying when he is silent is :

“I don’t know what to say yet, I am thinking about it. Just let me be. I can resolve this within myself if you don’t interrupt my process by asking more questions or offering suggestions.”

    NOT

“I am not responding to you because I do not care about you and I am ignoring you. What you have said is not important therefore I am not responding.”

Many women, including those in my past relationships imagined silence as the worst. This is due to the face that women are silent only for 2 reasons.

Either what’s about to come out of the mouth is gonna hurt or
she doesn’t wants to have nothing to do with that person.

The above are excerpts of Chapter 5 of John Gray’s Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus.

The Fun Friday At Tiger Arms Of Upper Penang Road

10.00 am – Woke up. Did not sleep well last night. I was semi awake all the while. Can’t find a reason for it. Spent time thinking about where I can most likely find solid colored backgrounds in Penang.

11.30 am – Picked up Daryl from Spansion. Realized that we had cravings. The tom yam kind. And there’s only 1 place nearby that’s cheap and good. Bayan Baru market.

Sat at lucky number 8.

I had Lai Hoe’s with some

side dishes.

Merahnyaaaaa.

This fella below came about 15 minutes later.

02.30 pm – Updated famouschris.

Sliced it up.

03.30 pm – Bersiar siar at upper penang road.

04.30 pm – Rested at the soy bean stall in Island Glades.

John didn’t plan to eat, but followed suit after inhaling the irresistible smell of laksa.

(If you’re logged in, you’ll see the boring video below in high quality)

05.30 pm – And then Joachim called.

John had no choice but to go all the way to the beaches of Tanjung Bungah, where Joachim stays, to collect some stuff for an event tomorrow.

On the way back, this fella stopped by to refuel and while that happened, he told me about the many benefits of having a Smile card. So, atas nasihat John, I signed up for one.

07.00 pm – Updated famouschris.

08.00 pm – Dinnered at Subway, E-Gate.

Sorry for keeping you guys waiting.

Had turkey breast.

This fella ate a foot long’s worth. You monster you.

Decided to test each flavour.

After testing 1 of each, I finally found the winner of Subway’s tastiest cookie award.

Coconut. (far left)

10.00 pm – After that, Anthony requested that we go rejuvenate ourselves in a bar. =.=”

Alcoholic say la alcoholic. Yea, yea.. rejuvenatemyass.

And so we went to Tiger Arms, UPR.

Had a pint of Kilkenny and a pint of Guinness.

Several people popped in and out along the night. Like these 3.

Joline : Come la…. come la….

Joseph : Wei… behave la.. she’s just behind la..
