09.30 am – Woke up, showered, put on my new clothes, went down and saw breakfast, consisting of rice vermicelli,
left over soup from yesterday and
glutinous rice balls for dessert.
This is usually what I have for breakfast for every first day of Chinese New Year.
Got my first red packet 😈
Played with Py for awhile before leaving to my first destination.
10.00 am – Went to the Oldest Methodist Church in Penang for their Chinese New Year morning service.
Something which I have been doing since Mom started going there a few years ago.
How the leaflet given to everyone that arrives at their doorstep looks like.
The mini envelope for you to put in money, known as “offering”.
No.20 is the program that I look forward to most.
As usual, we arrived late, so we had to sit at another hall away from the main, following the events of the service through the projected video.
11.30 am – As soon as service ended, (yay!), we visited Dad’s godsister who lived somewhere nearby.
Had a box of chrysanthemum white tea
and cookies.
Collected 3 red packets at one sitting 😈
12.00 pm – Next, we went to visit granny’s brother at Seri Kota.
As he lived on the 10th floor,
the view was pretty good
from all 3 angles.
Ate more cookies and desserts before leaving to
01.00 pm – visit my granddad’s sister.
And we ate her homemade red beans and
longans and
cookies and sweets.
Collected 3 ang pows again in 1 sitting 😈
02.00 pm – Went over to Jalan Besi to visit granny’s sister.
Ate again.
Collected 2 ang paus.
03.00 pm – And then we went over to granny’s brother’s place located somewhere deep in Tanjung Bungah. Ate some homemade pies.
Collected 1 ang pau.
05.30 pm – Took a nap. The day was so tiring.
08.00 pm – Went over to Ang’s Kayu Nasi Kandar for dinner.
Business was good as you could see many Chinese fellas eating there cause you can hardly find a Chinese stall open on the first day of CNY.
~yum
11.00 pm – Fighting starts.
The losers.
03.30 am – Went over to Khaleel for supper.
Curly noodles tomyam.
04.30 am – zzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz
