10.30 am – Woke up to a beautiful Friday morning in Taipei.

Took a walk around the shophouses by the hotel myself and found many interesting places.

Was feeling super hungry and hopped into a Family Mart to get something hot to eat.

Decided on dumplings.

Both pork.

Very good milk shake. Very.

11.14 am – Went back to my hotel room to start preparing for the day’s tour while watching Taiwan’s infamous Rainbow channel every now and then. 😈

12.10 pm – Met up outside the hotel.

Started our journey towards Shilin MRT.

12.34 pm – Arrived in Taipei Main Train Station where almost every train and metro in the city network passes through it.

Walked towards the TRA lines (think KTM), to take a 45 minutes train to Keelung.

Boarding Platform 4.

The railway map.

12.50 pm – I like how there are ‘priority seats’ made specially for people who are old, preggers or disabled.

Enjoying the ride to Keelung, discussing about our adventures the night before. 👿

The view outside.

Priority seats, even on the waiting platform.

01.35 pm – And then we arrived.

Quickly proceeded to the Keelung Visitor Information Center to get directions to Jiufen.

01.45 pm – On the bus, on the way to Jiufen.

Higher and higher. Colder and colder.

02.38 pm – Little did I know that Jiufen was actually a place quite high in the mountains.

The weather was REALLY COLD!

Macho (kononnya) in shorts.

Look at the crowd swelling around the entrance.

Yeap, this small narrow lane right beside 7-Eleven is actually called Jiufen Old Street.

Lots of stuff to see. Lots of stuff to eat.

Halfway, a few of us excused ourselves to go to the toilet which was supposed to be right at the entrance of Jiufen Old Street, but was closed for washing. And so, we had no choice but to make our way further down to the toilet beside this HUGE temple. The water was really COLD.

02.54 pm – On the way back to the restaurant, some of us bought some snacks from the vendors along the way.

Stinky tofu. Out of the 8 of us, only 2 could actually eat it.

The SUPER restaurant we had our lunch in. REALLY delicious meat. REALLY.

Different types of drinks in gigantic baby bottles outside the shop.

Lu rou fan. CRAZY good!

I have no idea what meat this was but it was also CRAZY good!

The red meat was actually raw meat (duck I think), the soup was cylindrical fishballs and the uppermost dish is jellyfish.

We had a BLAST! LOVED everything that went into our mouths. AWESOME experience!

And then YK contributed bowls of wet and

dry glutinous rice desserts.

03.32 pm – Dropped by the popular pineapple tart shop and bought ourselves

at least 2 BIG boxes each.

03.44 pm – We also dropped by this shop to buy packets of their REALLY DELICIOUS dry glutinous rice desserts. I highly recommend them.

And then we continued walking and walking, sure as not to miss anything as there was only 1 path to follow.

Stopped and bought myself a cup of Taiwanese fig jelly called aiyu ping.

03.51 pm – Continued on after that.

04.00 pm – A crowd of people lining up caught my attention.

I have no idea what this is.

And then I continued on.

Stumbled upon condom world 😈

04.08 pm – Reached an open area at the end of Jiufen old street.

Found lots of guest houses here.

06.38 am – Roomie and I woke up.

Started grooming ourselves for Ching Hwa’s big day.

Only brought a pair of Converse and flip flops.

06.45 am – All set and ready to rock!

06.50 am – First time in my life ever

having breakfast in 7 Eleven.

So was everyone else.

07.18 am – Arrived in Ching Hwa’s house and

he started handing out ribbons to tie at the car door handles.

And also a red paper in the shape of love to stick to the car windscreens.

The main car, the super cool Lexus R35, decorated with ribbons.

Matching teddies at the front of the hood.

07.28 am – Left Ching Hwa’s house.

We followed behind.

All 4 of us. For some reason, Ching Hwa arranged his entourage of cars to be even in number.

07.43 am – Arrived at Adeline’s temporary house in Muar. She’s from Klang by the way.

Imma get me a wife today!

Such an awesome shot of the man.

07.46 pm – And the games began.

Soon enough, we were just outside of Adeline’s room.

Ching Hwa made a call and next thing you know,

Adeline appeared!

Adeline’s family.

Adeline’s parents accompanying her to

the car.

08.55 am – Arrived back at the groom’s house.

I was so hungry I ate whatever layed out on the table.

So was everyone else.

Meanwhile, Ching Hwa was doing his thing inside. The traditional ceremony procedures.

09.43 am – After we filled up our stomachs, we just hung around the house.

A very cool portrait of everyone by using Kar Fei’s cool 50mm f/1.8 prime lens.

11.00 am – A last portrait of everyone before

we went back to our inn for a nap.

The awesome view from my room.

My sleeping roomie.

12.30 pm – Began our 1 hour journey from Muar to Melaka to spend the rest of the afternoon. It was Ching Hwa’s advise to go Melaka as there is nothing of interest to do in Muar.

02.01 pm – Arrived at the town center of Melaka.

For Donald and Lily’s nyonya food.

The kitchen with a squarish opening in the ceiling. Much like many of the colonial houses in Penang.

Us.

Super cendol. Almost like Penang Road’s. ALMOST.

The food was completely walloped in 5 minutes.

03.12 pm – Arrived at Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall.

The place is stuffed with lots and lots of mini shop lots.

I just couldn’t help myself.

All time favourite bubble milk tea.

07.40 pm – Arrived at the SUPER HUGE SKT Banquet Hall in Muar for Ching Hwa’s wedding dinner.

It was really spacious inside.

The backdrop of the stage.

The menu.

Red wine and beer were the 2 alcohol served that night.

07.55 pm – In came the newlyweds, signaling the start of food being served.

So was the shark’s fin soup that came in

readily divided bowls.

Our of nowhere, this fella appeared and started pouring Chivas into everyone’s glasses.

The prawns…. ~fuh~

The suckling pig… ~fuh~

The pomfret… ~fuh~

Sea cucumber.. so yum!

Abalone… delicious~!

Egg tarts!!!!

08.45 pm – And then the wine pouring session began.

After Ching Hwa was done with toasting on the stage,

he began the REAL toasting on the floor.

One by one till he reached our table.

Discussing about his Eurotrip. Jelesnyaaaaaa 👿

Stole a moment of their time and took a picture.

10.30 pm – The second couple that got married that night.

The third couple that got married that night.

The married couple by the arch, thanking guests as they left.

Group picture!

Individual pictures!

10.52 pm – Had bubble milk tea by the corner of the road in Muar as we didn’t know where else to go.

11.47 pm – Arrived on our beds. So early!!

Noticed an arrow stuck to a corner of the ceiling.

Kiblat is says.

Cool thing was, I had already checked in both of us 4 days ago and printed out the boarding pass.

So we just walked into the departure gate and waited for our plane to arrive.

How convenient!

05.10 pm – I liked the fact that AirAsia uses the loading bridge when it rains in Penang International Airport.

05.22 pm – It was cool to get to read October’s Travel 3 Sixty barely 5 days after I read September’s version during 5D4N Philippines.

It would be cool to have your face there. Really. Cool.

Jian Loong immersed in the travel articles.

Thanks for the ride, John!

10.07 pm – Collected their identification cards and proceeded to check us in.

Boarding pass, check.

10.25 pm – Hung around

Chinaman goatee!

12.16 pm – Touchdown!

12.30 pm – As soon as we landed, we went straight to the Tune Hotels feeder bus and

Suddenly, John started to feng tau.

12.56 pm – After we were done with all the room stuff, we met up with our 2 KL brothers and shared drinks

by the open space in front of the hotel.

Decanter’s price of drinks were reasonable.
