01.52 pm – Went to a very posh neighbourhood
where leafless trees lined both sides of the road, as if to welcome you.
Grouping together at Willy Lin’s (the guy in white) castle before going to Mt Dandenong.
Willy’s supped up AU$ 77,428 Audi S3.
02.44 pm – Arrived at a viewpoint in Mt Dandenong.
And then out of nowhere,
we saw postmen appearing systematically one by one until
they formed a line.
02.54 pm – Arrived at the small township of Olinda on Mt Dandenong for
It has won 11 Gold Medals and is Victoria’s best.
Does it mean Adelaide’s the best and Pie In The Sky is only 2nd?
The menu that has a picture of the restaurant at the front.
I felt a tinge of familiarity when I read the words ‘beef rendang’, ‘korma chicken’ and ‘Thai chicken green curry’.
After looking through the menu end to end, I decided to try one of their gold medal winning pies.
Beef Burgundy it was.
We sat on the 2nd level of the 3 level restaurant.
The Ping Hwa girls.
Beef Burgundy with salad.
Pie with mashed potatoes.
Pie with mashed potatoes and peas.
Pie with steakhouse chips and salad.
The many, many pies on display.
The very delicious beef burgundy.
04.24 pm – After lunch, we immediately left for another township on Mt Dandenong called Sassafras.
The reason was for Miss Marples Tea Room where we could eat her super famous scones.
July is the coldest month in Melbourne so it sort of feels right when you say ‘Christmas in July’.
Waiting to be seated.
Dried tea leaves, fruits, teapots,
books, lantern, etc on display.
If I counted right, the restaurant seated roughly 12 tables.
The menu. I wonder if the old lady in the picture is the actual Miss Marples.
The semi Australian picking items to be shared among us.
Looked like Christmas presents on a tree.
Pictures of Miss Marples, maybe?
The entire two paged menu.
The drinks section.
Scones that cost about RM25 each.
Jingle bell flower pot.
I have no idea what tea this was.
Jam & whipped cream.
Scones which looks a lot like roti bangkali but tastes heavenly.
Chocolate and pecan fudge cake.
Christmas decorations outside.
Reindeer made out of sticks.
05.51 pm – Arrived in SkyHigh Mt Dandenong. Beautiful views.
The giant’s chair.
Leslie taking a shit.
It was cold as hell but the experience up Mt Dandenong was well worth it.
08.07 pm – Arrived back in Melbourne CBD, showered and took a tram to Swanston Street’s
Dessert House Eatery for dinner.
Went to Woolworth’s again.
Stopped by Grill’d in QV Center.
We were the only customers inside.
The vegetable and sauce spread.
The menu above the counter.
The lighted menu by the entrance.
After I was done ordering my dinner, we went to the tram stop
and waited for our tram.
I had authentic Australian beer with
a piece of Grill’d burger that had
magnesium in it.
The AU$ 11.90 ‘Baa Baa’ Burger.
