07.19 am – Woke up early. Passed by the closed McDonald’s in Kuta Square.
Passed by a CIMB bank.
The quiet street by the beach.
Kuta beach’s McDonald’s.
One of the only very few eating places around Kuta that sells breakfast.
Their menu never changes. It’s the same throughout the entire day.
Ordered a cup of tea and
2 Gourmet Wrap aka Foldovers.
Tasted pretty good actually.
The crying Ronald McDonald.
I wonder how Manila’s Ronald McDonald look like, now that I have seen Bali’s and Thai’s Ronald.
I see this guy everywhere. Odyssey’s a marketing guru.
09.14 am – By 9.14am, we hopped on to Dean’s Toyota Kijang and were on our way to the tour of the day.
And it rained.
The first place we went to was an art complex selling all sorts of genuine jewelery.
The sculpture with the toilet signs on his left and right arm.
10.14 am – Next stop was a market that girls in particular should go to in the mornings.
It’s called Pasar Seni Sukawati.
You get all sorts of clothes, paintings, shorts, bags, accessories, etc. at floor prices.
You can bargain so hard that you’d get a dress for the price of IDR 20,000.
11.56 pm – Next stop, Warung Babi Guling Ibu Oka for lunch.
The huge restaurant famous for it’s pork.
The lower floor interior.
The menu contains only 2 different sets for you to choose from.
Of course there’s also the alacarte section.
Bintang did cross my mind but… nah.. it’s too early for beer.
My green tea.
The babi guling set that comes
with rice separately and
a small bowl of soup.
The set that comes with rice included but without soup.
Oh yeah, for chili lovers, you should try the babi guling chili. Hot as hell!
01.02 pm – And we were on our way again.
Our road was blocked for a while to wait for the guy up in the tree to
finish chopping down a bunch of coconuts. (Spot the falling coconuts)
01.06 pm – 4 minutes later, we reached the rice terrace fields. Beautiful place. Truly beautiful!
01.23 pm – And we were on our way again.
01.48 pm – Mount Batur, an active volcano located at the center of two concentric calderas north west of Mount Agung in Bali.
02.01 pm – And we were on our way again and it rained. It was practically raining the entire day. January is actually the wettest month of the year in Bali.
Passed by a bunch of volcano lava rocks.
Took 2 small ones home as souvenirs.
